Communigrow is a registered food education charity based in East Malling, Maidstone, Kent. We are focused on reconnecting people to freshly grown food, the outdoor environment it comes from and the soil it grows in. We want to teach people from all walks of life – rich or poor, young or old – about how to grow their own food and reconnect with nature. Learning, teaching, caring and sharing are the core aspects of the Communigrow project. We care about ethical food production, land and nature conservation and personal and collective well-being.

The farm shop was started in 1965 and remains true to its roots as a proper farm shop. We love to champion amazing local producers alongside our homegrown heritage produce. We have bread from two local bakeries, Davies Bakery and Way Bakery, available daily; these pair beautifully with our huge selection of local and national cheeses. And if we don’t have your favourites, let us know as we are always on the lookout for new cheeses.

Living in Margate, we could see plentiful, fresh produce growing in the fields around us. We could see it, but we couldn’t access it. We’ve now sourced the very best and put it all under one roof at K.G.WINTERS General Stores.

Ripple Farm Organic's East Kent vegetable box delivery scheme aims to provide its customers with a seasonal range of fresh, locally grown (mostly), 100% organic vegetables and salad each week. Approximately 80% of the produce is grown by ourselves near Canterbury, Kent with most of the rest from Kent.

As our veg is so fresh it tastes better. That is a fact. Anyone who has grown their own knows that you cannot beat that 'just picked' taste. But there is another reason; our farmers pick the varieties they grow for taste, not for shape, size, colour, etc. A supermarket tomato has to be round and red with no imperfections. That is because they sell to you with your eyes not your tongue. We have all had those tasteless insipid tomatoes that look good but taste of nothing. You won't get these with us.
