Batch Farm is situated in an idyllic setting on the Pennard ridge with views of the Glastonbury Tor and the Mendips beyond. Cheesemaking has been a family concern at Batch Farm for almost 50 years. The dairy is adjacent to the thatched farmhouse where Fred Gould runs the farm and Jean Turner his sister the cheesemaking business. Using milk from their 260 Friesian cows, Gould’s make around 140 tonnes of West Country Farmhouse Cheddar in the traditional 27kg cylinders.

The Appleby’s work closely as a family to produce, mature and retail their award winning Appleby’s Cheshire, Appleby’s Smoked and Appleby’s Double Gloucester. The traditional Cheshire Cheese recipe has been handed down through the Appleby family and now Edward and Christine. son Paul and wife Sarah are fully involved in the business - along with their four children who all love cheese! The family are supported in the dairy by Garry Gray, the Head Cheesemaker and by the team on the farm. Cheese is a part of the Appleby family!

Lynher Dairies
Lynher Dairies, owned by Catherine Mead, is home to Cornish Yarg, Cornish Kern and Stithians. Every truckle comes from our small, rural dairy in mid Cornwall. The Marlow Cheese Co
