Ferny Hill Farm Shop

The Ferny Hill Farm Shop has been providing customers with fresh eggs, locally produced potatoes and fruit and veg for over thirty years. In addition, The Farm Shop now offers local bacon and meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, an extensive range of luxury foods including homemade cakes, muffins, biscuits, jams, marmalades, pickles and preserves as well as a good selection of Organic foods including organic mayonnaise, bread making mixture, oat cakes and chocolate biscuits.

Balnafettach Farm

A family-run farm situated just outside Cromdale within the Cairngorms National Park, the Cassells farm one of Scotlands oldest native breeds, pure Highland Cattle, and a small flock of sheep - a mixture of pure Jacobs and Texel X. They also have free-roaming chickens, and occasionally rear rare breed pigs from weaners, which they turn into bacon themselves using traditional methods. Working recently with an on-farm butcher, they offer seasonal wild game, shot on the farm and locally, as well as mutton. The Farm Shop is home to an extensive selection of locally sourced produce from cheese, honey, jams, chutneys, crisps, flavoured salts, oils and vinegars all from Kent and even as local as the village we are situated in. Plus free range eggs from our very own chickens, home baked treats including cakes, scones and cheesecakes from the BarnYard’s kitchen and the best in home grown groceries from our pear, cherry and award winning apple orchards, which are well placed alongside our finest quality fruit and vegetables.

Nightingale Farm Shop

Gibbet Oak Farm began by supplying the markets. Early in the morning, Dad would drive our produce to Borough Market (a far cry from what it is today). Some 20 years ago, we added a humble honesty box stall on the farm, where you could buy boxes of our fruit. It quickly built up a loyal local following, and grew into a fully-fledged farm shop. Now we supply our customers and many local businesses with home-grown seasonal fruit, including our famed asparagus, cherries, strawberries and raspberries, as well as apples and pears, and our award-winning juices.

We are primarily a free range egg farm, with a commercial flock of 24,000 free range laying hens and a small flock of sheep, along with goats, guinea pigs, ferrets and a rabbit! We also have a farm shop and butchery, selling local and home reared products. Our trademarks are an 11kw wind turbine, which can be seen from the A38, and our 200kw photovoltaic system, which helps to reduce our impact on the environment.
