The first Walsingham Farm Shop was born out of the desire to link Walsingham Estate with its farming tenants following the Curry Report of 2002, produced by the Policy Commission to look in to the future of farming and food.

Trevathan is a working farm and has been farmed by the Symons family since 1850. In recent times the farm buildings had become unsuitable for modern farming methods so they have been restored and converted into stone holiday cottages. We started in 1984 and now have 11 cottages at Trevathan.

The family have always been big cheese lovers and cheesemaking has always been in our family history. When in season we stock locally grown produce including asparagus, potatoes, vegetables, Tiptree strawberries, raspberries and cherries. When we can’t source produce locally we purchase fruit, exotic fruit, salads and vegetables from Spitalfields Wholesale market in London, often arriving just after midnight to find the best produce.
