In September 2008, Julian Carter and Tim Hart opened Hambleton Bakery, to produce top quality traditionally made bread for Hambleton Hall and Harts in Nottingham, and added a little shop at the front, almost as an afterthought; 10 years on, with a growing list of wholesale customers, Hambleton Bakery now has shops in Oakham, Market Harborough, West Bridgford, Stamford and Oundle.
All bread sold at the loaf is baked, fresh every day, at the bakery in Crich. Some of our customers have told us that it would be useful to understand a little bit more about the differences between the great variety of breads that we make. Below we have provided a short guide around our breads, which will hopefully help you get a better understanding of what we produce. Farndon Fields is an award-winning farm shop situated on the edge of the beautiful historic town of Market Harborough. It has developed over the years and today the farm shop showcases our produce grown on the farm, quality meat from local farmers and a large selection of fantastic local and British food that has been hand selected by Kevin, Milly and the team.
Fresh, seasonal produce delivered daily from our farm’s Market Garden, artisan cheese and breads from our farm’s creamery and bakery, organic meat from our animals and more.
We call ourselves artisans because we make bread by hand using long fermenting, traditional methods. Organic flour and water are all we need to start making our bread. Then adding a touch of salt and the best natural ingredients, our skilled bakers create great tasting bread, ranging from our natural sourdoughs and ryes to bloomers and ciabatta.
The Farm Shop is developing a range of ideas to deliver something special for meal times as well as great everyday tea time inspiration. Alongside a range of locally sourced meats, wines and cheeses we sell a delicious array of fresh local produce, "Mr Moo's" ice cream and hot and cold drinks.
This family-run shop have been supplying Argyllshire with bread and cakes since 1922. Although the house bestseller is the Scotch shortbread, the range of bread includes traditional French loaves such as pain rustique, modern breads such as spelt and even shleb rye, a Polish bread for the local Polish community.
Coombeshead Bakery, inhabiting the same converted barn space as the restaurant, is headed up by Ben Glazer. Now supplying restaurants, hotels and farm shops around Cornwall, the West Country, London, and beyond with his organic sourdough wares, Ben is also running comprehensive bread workshops on chosen Sundays through the year.
The Handmade Bakery (HMB) is a not for profit community supported artisan bakery in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire. We are a workers co-operative, owned and run by our members. It consists of a flourishing bakery producing 2000 loaves of real bread and patisserie each week, and a vibrant contemporary café space. Established in 2009, we are proud to be at the heart of our local community.
