Kilsyth has a busy little high street and the farmers’ market has been a welcome addition to the events calendar. Here is your chance to meet and speak to the producers from the local area and to buy the best of Lanarkshire produce direct from the suppliers. Craftwork also on show and there is often the bonus of some local musical entertainment.
Stalls staffed by the local producers usually include lamb, beef, rare breed pork, chicken, eggs, jams & preserves, Suffolk cheeses, freshly-ground coffee, chocolate, very local vegetables, mushrooms, honey, stone-ground flour, apples and apple juices, authentic home-made curries, breads and cakes, including cupcakes, outdoor plants in season, plus a handful of local craft items.

Baildon Farmers Market take place on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9am until 1pm. You’ll usually find fresh bread, organic vegetables, locally shot game, soups and sauces, pickles and preserves, artisan cheese, fish from Fleetwood, cakes and pastries, yoghurt and cream. As well as our regulars, we usually have one or two guest stalls, so you’ll always find something different.
This is an unusual market in that it takes place on a weekday! Kirkintilloch has the claim to fame of being the first weekday farmers’ market in Scotland. Headingley farmers market is a highly successful Farmers Market in North West Leeds. The Monthly market (2nd Sat) has over 20 food stalls and there is music provided by a range of local groups.
