Argo's Bakery

One of Orkney's oldest family-run businesses, now staffed by the fourth generation, Argo's is a popular fixture on the main shopping streets of Stromness and Kirkwall. Don't leave it too late to visit either location, as their artisan baked bread, rolls and cakes disappear fast from well-laden shelves. Brown, white, corn, muesli and wholemeal are just some of the rolls on offer, while colourful iced cakes stand out among old-fashioned temptations such as paradise slices, treacle pancakes and custard tarts.
